ABOUT THE BRITISH BOOK INDUSTRY AWARDS
2008 British Book Industry Awards and Dinner
A Publishing News / BA Joint Venture In a move reflecting changes in the worlds of bookselling and publishing, this annual event, arguably the most enjoyable night out in the book trade calendar, was last year renamed the British Book Industry Awards. The British Book Industry Awards - the only awards event to honour all sectors of the book business - has, over the last 19 years, provided the industry with a prestigious platform from which it has been able to recognize and reward its own.
Leading booksellers and publishers have stepped up over the years to collect their gold trophy - the now famous and much coveted Nibbie - and 1000's more have gone along to honour their peers, cheer and join in the party afterward.
The 2008 British Book Industry Awards ceremony will again take place on the last night of Conference in this year's impressive venue, the Hotel Metropole, in Brighton.
Awards to be presented this year include the prestigious Bowker UK Chain Bookselling Company of the Year and the KPMG Publisher of the Year Award. The full list of awards can been seen on this dedicated site.
